A winch servo reefs the parachute to put the flight in the 37 to 40 second window and to bring the eggs down on a landing the airframe can survive.

The guided airframe — servo fins, a reefed canopy, and flight electronics — built for two eggs, 800 feet, 37 to 40 seconds, and no more than 650 grams at the rail.

In-Flight Control
The computer reads the stack in real time and drives the fins and the reefing. Without this, the airframe is just a tube.
Altitude
Servos cant the fins after burnout so we can correct the climb instead of hoping the motor hits 800 feet alone.
